Introduction and Groundbreaking Ceremony -- 7/24

Welcome to the new Thompson Builders Blog! As a business that has been operating for over 30 years, we want to keep you up to date with all the happenings going on around the office and job sites! My name is Emily Thompson, one of Paul’s many daughters, and I will be your blogger from now on, so if you have any juicy scoops about the company, whether it be an award we won or a topping off party, let me know! You can reach me at emilyt@tbcorp.com

At the start of the year, we broke ground for the new company office at the McPhails site in Novato, CA, a land rich with history in the concrete making business. We are very excited to finally get this project underway as we have been planning the new office for many years now. Put together by Shannon Miller and Laurie Weyl, the groundbreaking ceremony was a huge success. Friends and family of TBC joined together for food prepared by Bill Weyl, photo ops with hard hats and gold shovels, and some words by Shannon and Paul Thompson. With weeks of rain leading up to the ceremony, we lucked out on the day and didn’t have an ounce of rain. Despite the low hanging clouds covering the sky and keeping the temperature cool, everyone managed to have a good time with good laughs as we got geared up for a new office to call home.

Everyone is brimming with excitement about the new site as it will be catered to fit more employees’ needs. We’ll be seeing a 22,000 sf office and warehouse fully equipped with a BBQ area that includes horseshoe pits, a bocce ball court, and a basketball area. Perfect for in house celebrations and decompressing from long work days! The building itself will be concrete tilt-up construction with PV panels on the roof for some clean energy to power us. The office will have rustic timber trusses, exposed ductwork, and polished concrete floors, while the warehouse will be composed of four bays with 10,000 sf.

We hope to see a finished product in November of 2019!
